Choosing Your Shifts Carefully: Per Diem Etiquette

Are you the type of person who loves to take on multiple shifts with GigWorx? We love your eagerness and enthusiasm! However, it's important to keep in mind that commitment and follow-through is fundamental to ensure smooth operations for our clients and their team. By being reliable and dependable, you're not only building a good reputation for yourself but for GigWorx as well. It's a win-win situation!

This article serves as a friendly reminder about shift work etiquette.

What happens when I accept a shift through the GigWorx app?

When you click "accept" on a shift, you're not just committing to showing up for work. You're also sending a signal to the client and GigWorx team that you're the right person for the job. They trust you to represent their organization with professionalism and to provide excellent service to their customers.

By removing the shift from the public job board, you're ensuring that other gigsters don't accidentally double-book themselves and that the client has a seamless scheduling experience. It's a small but important way to show that you respect the process and are invested in building a strong relationship with GigWorx and the clients they serve.

What if I cancel a shift that I already accepted?

Life is unpredictable and sometimes situations arise that require you to cancel a shift. At GigWorx, we understand that and offer options for you to do so. However, we ask that you inform us as early as possible so we can quickly partner with our client to find a replacement. The client is immediately notified of the dropped shift and works to repost it on the GigWorx app.

Unfortunately, many shifts go unfilled, so please keep in mind the importance of your commitment. If you know you'll be unable to work for an extended period, please let your recruiter know so we can respect your privacy and find a suitable replacement. Our goal is to simplify staffing needs and provide peace of mind to our clients by offering talented and qualified workers at a moment's notice.

Thank you for your flexibility, work ethic, and continued commitment to GigWorx.
